How to take a full cPanel backup

Although your hosting provider most likely takes backups of your hosting accounts it’s always best practice to take regular backups yourself also. With cPanel the process is quick and easy.

  1. Create the backup using cPanel’s Backup Wizard
  2. Download and save your backup
  3. Remove the backup from the server

That’s it!

Here’s some more detailed step by step instructions.

  1. Once logged into cPanel select “Backups”
  2. Click on the “Download or Generate a Full Website Backup” button
  3. Leave the backup destination as the default “home directory”
  4. Enter your email address and press “generate backup”

  1. Log into cPanel and select “File Manager”
  2. Click on the “Home Directory” radio button the press “Go”
